Sen. Cruz: ‘Making the Historic Tax Cuts Permanent Is Just One More Way Congress Can Continue Delivering on the Promises Made to the American People’
Urges Senate to make historic tax cuts permanent
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement applauding the House of Representatives for passing a bill to make the individual tax cuts permanent, and urging his Senate colleagues to do the same.
“All across the Lone Star State, Texans are benefitting from the historic tax cuts Congress passed last year,” Sen. Cruz said. “The economy is booming, and hardworking Americans are seeing more opportunity and higher wages. Making the historic tax cuts permanent is just one more way Congress can continue delivering on the promises made to the American people. I’m proud of my colleagues in the House for doing just that, and urge my colleagues in the Senate to make these tax cuts permanent.”
Following Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (D-Vt.) national interview calling for the middle class tax cuts to be made permanent, Sen. Cruz agreed and in January introduced a bill. On Tax Day, Sen. Cruz again introduced a bill making the federal tax cuts and provisions on the individual side permanent.
