Natural Gas: Clean and Critical to Americas Energy Independence
This week is National Clean Energy Week, an opportunity to recognize the vital role abundant natural gas has played in creating good-paying jobs, boosting our economy, and providing cleaner, more affordable, and more reliable energy that powers communities here and around the world.
Under President Trump's leadership, Texas has become the leading natural gas producer and the United States has become a net exporter of natural gas. Increasing natural gas production has allowed the U.S. to lower energy costs, reduce air pollution, and boost America's energy independence.
That's why U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) continues to lead efforts to remove regulatory barriers that stand in the way of clean energy such as natural gas, including introducing the American Energy Renaissance Act (AERA) and the Natural Gas Export Expansion Act, commonsense policies that will strengthen our economy and energy security and improve lives.
