Greetings,
This week, I was honored to join Concerned Veterans for America for a series of ‘Defend & Reform' town halls across the state, from McKinney to Austin to Houston. At each town hall, I discussed my efforts on behalf of veterans, including expanding veterans' choice and modernizing the Department of Veterans Affairs' information technology (IT) infrastructure. We must deliver on the promises we made as a nation to the men and women who so bravely defended our nation. In furtherance of this mission, modernizing the IT infrastructure of the VA is a one of my top priorities. These reforms will equip the VA to address the health care needs of our nation's heroes here in Texas and across the country.
In addition to the ‘Defend & Reform' town halls, I participated in several roundtables with veterans groups. At each event, I participated in Q&A sessions, and heard firsthand how Congress can continue to advance VA reform and improve the quality of health care for our nation's veterans.
Throughout the week, I also spoke with several Texas and national radio personalities, where we discussed VA reform, my efforts on repealing and replacing Obamacare, and the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
