October 28, 2017

Greetings,

This week, I spoke on the Senate floor about the need for real tax cuts, and urged my Senate colleagues to keep our promise to hardworking Americans to reform our broken tax system. I also discussed my priorities for fundamental tax reform on local Texas radio. With tax reform, we can unleash our economy, and create more good paying jobs for working men and women across our state, and across the country.

On Tuesday, the Senate passed the supplemental funding bill for storm relief, which provides additional resources for Texas to recover after Harvey. More funding will be necessary, and I am continuing to work with my colleagues in the Senate, the House, the Administration, and the Governor's office to ensure Texans receive the resources they need to rebuild.

I also want to take this opportunity to remind those affected by Hurricane Harvey that the final day to apply for FEMA’s individual disaster assistance is November 24th; you can register at disasterassistance.gov.

My Senate office, led by our Hurricane Harvey recovery working group, continues to work to ensure swift and effective service to Texans and Texas communities in need of federal assistance following the storm. If you need additional information or assistance during the recovery and rebuilding process, please do not hesitate to contact my office or utilize the federal and state resources listed here.

Please read below for an update from this last week.

Keep Texas Strong,

TC Sig
