e-Newsletter: Week of January 19th

Good Evening,

As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the ranking member of the Subcommittee on the Constitution, this week I led 177 of my colleagues in Congress, alongside House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), in filing a bicameral Supreme Court amicus brief in the case Donald J. Trump v. Norma Anderson, et al. The Colorado Supreme Court’s decision in this case to keep Donald Trump off the ballot in Colorado wrongfully sidestepped the proper, Constitutionally-mandated role of Congress in administering Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. The decision is yet another attempt by the radical left to threaten the merits of our democracy. I’m proud to have led my colleagues in urging the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision and protect our democratic process.

This week, I joined Stuart Varney on Fox Business’ Varney & Co. to discuss the utter defiance of the Biden administration to ignore immigration laws and enable the drug cartels’ human trafficking network on our southern border.

“What Biden is doing no president the history of our country has ever done. He's just utterly defying the law. He is essentially saying, ‘I don't care what the law says. I'm going to let everyone go.’ Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the last mile of the human trafficking network, and they are sending illegal immigrants to every city in America. For them politics is more important than the human lives they're destroying.”

On Thursday, I spoke at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing where we discussed and voted on several judicial nominees. Yet again it was clear the Biden administration is recklessly motivated to appoint radical and extreme judges to the federal bench and no Democrat has the will-power to vote ‘no.’

“We have talked at length, in this committee, about the nature of Joe Biden's judicial nominees. He is consistently seeking people who are extreme, who are partisans, and who are out of the mainstream. Today we are voting on several judges whose records, quite frankly, are extraordinary. And it is consistently disappointing that no matter what a judge has done, [no matter what] a judicial nominee has done, and no matter how extreme their record is, the Democrats on this committee will vote in favor of those nominees.”

Rest assured, I am committed to fighting back against the Biden administration’s radical agenda. God Bless!
