As the Senator for the great state of Texas, I am proud of what my team and I accomplished last year to deliver on the Lone Star State’s top priorities of freedom, economic prosperity, and security. At the start of the new year, I had the honor of being sworn into office for my third term. I am ready to get to work with President Trump to steer our nation back on course. We will rebuild our economy, secure our borders, and reclaim America’s role as the beacon of strength and freedom.

“Representing the Great State of Texas in the United States Senate is the honor of a lifetime. I am deeply humbled and immensely privileged to fight every day for thirty-one million Texans. This election was a clear mandate from the American people, and now we must roll up our sleeves and deliver real results: securing the border, creating jobs, unleashing American energy, defending our liberties, restoring integrity to the administration of justice, and defeating our enemies. Let’s get to work.”

The American people have given an unequivocal mandate for change, and with Republican control in both chambers of Congress and the White House. We are ready to act on the promises we made to the American people. Our priorities are clear: securing the border, reducing inflation, unleashing American energy, ending the weaponization of government, and confirming President Trump's cabinet. I am fully committed to working with the Trump administration to fulfill our promises and deliver common-sense results.

“We've been given Republican control of the White House, the Senate, and the House. We can't waste it. … I am confident we will secure the border beginning on January 20. … We're going to pass major legislation supporting securing the border, funding the border wall, hiring more Border Patrol agents, and investing in assets. … When it comes to inflation, there's a clear mandate from the voters on inflation to turn it around. A big part of the cause of inflation has been Joe Biden and the Democrats' war on energy and Texas oil and gas, which is going to end on January 20. … There's also a mandate to end the politicization of the Department of Justice and the FBI. I'm confident we will get that done. … And there's a mandate to end the wars, defeat our enemies, and stand with our friends. … The message [Trump sent to our enemies] that ‘all hell will break loose’ was incredibly important, and one sadly, Joe Biden and the Democrats are incapable of giving because they don't believe it and they wouldn't follow through on it.”

I have no doubt that under President Trump’s leadership, we will confront and reverse the disastrous policies that have weakened our country under Joe Biden’s watch. The harsh reality is that America now faces the highest risk of having another terrorist attack since 9/11 because of Biden's failed leadership. Tragically, this danger was realized on New Year’s Day in New Orleans. The FBI and the Department of Justice must refocus their efforts on safeguarding our nation rather than pursuing political agendas. The safety of the American people must always come first.

“Under Joe Biden, the FBI focused on politics. They focused on going after his political enemies. They focused on being woke. They focused on DEI. They focused on everything except actually doing their job, which is stopping terrorists and going after the bad guys. One of the most important things that is going to happen under Trump is the Department of Justice and the FBI [will] restore their integrity. They're going to stop this weaponization and they're going to focus on the bad guys. Today, we are at the highest risk of a major terrorist attack than any time since 9/11. Tragically, what happened in New Orleans showed that was exactly true.”

This focus on national security extends beyond our borders. President Trump has shown interest in Greenland and I have to say it makes sense. Greenland's location is beneficial to America's national security interests and rare earth minerals are abundant. Anything could not be “for sale” until suddenly it is. If you’re a Greenlander the possibility of becoming an American and receiving the benefits bestowed upon American citizens is a compelling proposition.
