Hi, I’m Ted Cruz and this is the Freedom Minute.

One of the most troubling aspects of growing government in Washington has been the explosion of regulation.

In the past 20 years, 81,883 final rules have been issued. That's more than 3,500 per year or 9 final rules every single day.

With Obamacare alone, we have over 20,000 pages of regulations. Think about that.

How on earth are entrepreneurs and small businesses supposed to know how to comply?

Even worse, per employee, regulation costs $7,000 for big companies and over $10,000 for small companies. And that's no accident. That's how big government works to hammer new start-ups.

No wonder the economy is stuck and so many Americans are out of work.

We can do better with a lot less burdensome regulation.
