WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today released the latest weekly “Freedom Minute” segment, in which he notes one of the many unintended consequences of Obamacare -- the likely moving of filming of movies overseas. He also reiterated his call to defund and repeal the law.

“OBAMACARE'S UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES” RADIO SCRIPT [60 SECONDS]:

Hi, I’m Ted Cruz and this is the Freedom Minute.

We've issued lots of warnings about what Obamacare is going to do to the economy, but I never thought it would change what we see at the movies.

Let me explain.

One prominent movie industry magazine recently wrote that some production companies will probably start filming in foreign countries to avoid triggering Obamacare regulations.

That’s right. Because of Obamacare, the next time you see American amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties in the movies, they might not even be filmed in the United States.

This is just one of the many unintended consequences of Obamacare. It’s hard to fathom them all.

That’s why we have to continue the fight to defund and repeal Obamacare. Obamacare is the number one job-killer in America.

I want to keep seeing America at the movies. Don’t you?

I’m Ted Cruz and this is the Freedom Minute.
