Why the Purple Heart Matters for Fort Hood Terror Victims
Obama Administrations label of workplace violence denied benefits for heroes
WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today released a video in support of the 2009 Fort Hood terror victims, who will now be eligible to receive the Purple Heart and associated benefits thanks to legislation sponsored by Sen. Cruz in the 2015 National Defense Authorization Act heading to the President’s desk.
“It was abundantly clear, this was an act of radical Islamic terrorism,” said Sen. Cruz. “And the only explanation for the Administration’s persistent denial of that is politics.
“We owe it to the victims of Fort Hood to speak the truth, to recognize that they died protecting this nation and to honor and acknowledge them for their sacrifice.”
