Sen. Cruz: ‘Defiance of our Laws in Texas Will No Longer be Tolerated’
Commends Governor Abbott and Texas legislature for enacting ban on sanctuary cities
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) issued the following statement praising Texas Governor Greg Abbott for signing legislation yesterday that will ban sanctuary cities in Texas:
“Governor Greg Abbott yesterday sent a clear message that defiance of our laws in Texas will no longer be tolerated,” Sen. Cruz said. “I commend the Governor for signing into law this ban on sanctuary cities and the members of the Texas Legislature – especially Reps. Charlie Geren and Paul Workman and Senator Charles Perry – for their leadership in sponsoring this measure.”
