Sen. Cruz: Genuine Tax Cuts Will Spark Economic Growth and Create Meaningful Opportunities for Working People and Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released the following statement regarding the tax reform announcement made by House leadership earlier today:

“I am very encouraged to see the House moving forward on our commitment to fundamental tax reform for the American people. While the next couple of months will involve extensive negotiations, I am confident we will get the job done. I will continue to press for the key principles of economic growth, simplicity, and fairness, as well as the seven critical policy elements of tax reform, that I have consistently outlined. Lowering rates – both corporate and individual – will create a simpler and fairer tax structure that decreases the tax burden on hardworking Americans and small business owners.
