Cruz, Cornyn Urge Harvey Victims in Texas to Register with FEMA
FEMA deadline extended; Texans must register for FEMA's Federal Disaster Assistance by Friday, November 24th
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) issued the following statement urging Texans impacted by Hurricane Harvey to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in order to qualify for federal disaster assistance by FEMA’s new Friday, November 24th deadline. FEMA has announced that the deadline has been extended by 31 days from its earlier October 24th deadline. Texans can register at disasterassistance.gov, by phone (1-800-621-3362), or in person.
“Texans are known for their resiliency and strength, and we have no doubt our state will come back from Hurricane Harvey’s devastation even stronger,” they said. “In order to utilize all available federal resources during the recovery process, we’re urging those who may qualify for federal disaster assistance to register with FEMA prior to the November 24th deadline.”
