WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today released the latest in a series of “Freedom Minute” segments in which he notes more and more Americans are standing up against Obamacare and now is the time to defund it.

“DEFUND OBAMACARE NOW” RADIO SCRIPT [60 SECONDS]:

Hi, I’m Ted Cruz and this is the Freedom Minute.

As the nation starts to implement Obamacare, more and more Americans are standing up against it.

The latest to raise their voice is organized labor, including the Teamsters Union led by James Hoffa.

In a remarkable letter, three prominent unions said: Obamacare will “destroy the foundation of the 40-hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.”

That’s not surprising, as Obamacare penalizes workers above 30-hours per week, and companies above 50 full-time employees.

On top of this, the immigration bill passed last month in the Senate compounds the problem by effectively imposing a $5,000 tax penalty on hiring U.S. citizens.

That makes no sense. Americans deserve better. We must defund Obamacare now, and I’m leading the fight to do so.
