ATLANTA, Ga – Sen. Cruz addressed the 2017 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum. There he discussed the historic opportunities before Congress to get our nation back on track, and his efforts to defend the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights.
“The men and women of the NRA are men and women of action. You are leaders who stand and fight for our constitutional rights,” Sen. Cruz said. “The Second Amendment reflects the fundamental right of each and every one of us to defend our homes, and our families, and our children from anyone who would seek to do them harm. And the Second Amendment was also designed as a check on government tyranny. [An] armed citizenry is a free and independent citizenry empowered to defend our fundamental liberties. Thank you for your passion, for pulling this country back from the brink and protecting our freedoms for our children and our children’s children.”
