Sen. Cruz Addresses Members of the Dallas Regional Chamber and Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Monday, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) addressed members of the Dallas Regional Chamber and Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce during their biennial fly-in to Washington, D.C. There, he discussed his priorities for NAFTA, including his letter to President Trump urging him to include a groundbreaking Competitiveness Chapter to achieve regulatory reform, including the REINS Act, in any NAFTA renegotiation, and his efforts to rollback burdensome federal regulations on business owners, so they can create more good paying jobs for hardworking men and women across the Lone Star State.
“The number one priority of Texans throughout our state is jobs and economic growth,” Sen. Cruz said. “That’s my top priority as well. As I travel the state, there is a renewed optimism as we create an environment that makes it easier to do business, raise wages, and expand opportunity. While I know folks from North Texas are closely watching NAFTA renegotiations, I believe we have a real opportunity to expand trade and open up markets with Mexico and Canada. Earlier this year, I sent a letter to the President urging him to use NAFTA as a vehicle for regulatory reform, to codify proposals like the REINS Act, and to strengthen U.S. competitiveness from within. And I can tell you my voice is emphatically urging the Administration to go in the direction of expanding international trade and opening up foreign markets.”
