“It’s great to be at home in Houston and to visit with the hardworking Texans who provide significant contributions to Texas’ and our country’s oil and gas industry,” Sen. Cruz said. “As a result of our energy renaissance, the United States has emerged as the largest global crude oil producer. Texas’ energy community stands apart from the rest of the country as it leads the nation as a producer of one-third of all U.S. crude oil. The Texas energy community’s significant contributions to our country have undoubtedly contributed to America’s overall economic success.”
Later, Sen. Cruz delivered remarks at the National Safety Council’s 2018 NSC Congress and Expo.

I am proud of the legislative efforts Congress has taken in efforts to save millions from the ravages of drug addiction, and I look forward to continuing working with my colleagues in Congress and President Trump to create effective laws to combat the growing opioid crisis.”
