Sen. Cruz: ‘I Am Grateful for Master Sergeant Williams’ Selfless Service to Our Nation’

Attends White House Medal of Honor ceremony for soldier from Boerne, Texas

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today released the following statement after attending the White House Medal of Honor ceremony to recognize the bravery and service of Texas native U.S. Army Master Sergeant (MSG) Matthew O. Williams:

"Master Sergeant Williams is a Texan and American patriot. Under immense enemy fire, he risked his life to protect his troops from being overrun and saved numerous lives, including those of four wounded soldiers. Today, he was awarded one of our country's highest honors for his bravery and courage. I am grateful for Master Sergeant Williams' selfless service to our nation."
