Sen. Cruz: ‘We Remember Those Who Gave That Last Full Measure of Devotion’

Delivers remarks at the Georgetown - Williamson County Memorial Day Ceremony

GEORGETOWN, Texas - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today delivered remarks at the Georgetown - Williamson County Memorial Day Ceremony at Sun City.

"We're here today with a special privilege and a special responsibility," Sen. Cruz said. "The privilege and responsibility to say ‘thank you.' The privilege and responsibility to recognize greatness. Just a few minutes ago, when each of the veterans of our armed forces, when the soldiers, and sailors, and airmen, and marines, and coastguardsmen stood and we recognized each of you. Today is a day where you should know that all across the state of Texas and all across our country, we are profoundly grateful for your service, your sacrifice, your heroism, and collectively we say from the bottom of our hearts, ‘thank you.' Today is also a day, where in particular, we remember those who are not here with us to stand today. We remember those who gave that last full measure of devotion. Scripture tells us greater love hath no man than that he lay down his life for his brother."
