Sen. Cruz: ‘For Six Decades NASA Has Enabled the United States to Lead the World in Space Exploration’
Issues statement commemorating the 60th anniversary of NASA
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Space, Science, and Competitiveness, issued the following statement commemorating the 60th anniversary of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA):
“For six decades, NASA has enabled the United States to lead the world in space exploration,” Sen. Cruz said. “I am proud of the work that has been accomplished across NASA and by the dedicated men and women at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. NASA has an incredible legacy of bravery and success that has been pivotal to the United States in winning the space race, making new discoveries throughout our solar system, and preparing to send manned missions to Mars and beyond. As chairman of the Subcommittee on Space, Science, and Competitiveness, I am committed to strengthening our national space program so that NASA’s success of the last 60 years will be continued for decades to come. I am optimistic about the work ahead to open up the last frontier, as NASA continues its research and development to support the goals of our national space program.”
