Sen. Cruz Introduces Bill to Counter Chinese Espionage at American Universities
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today reintroduced the Stop Higher Education Espionage and Theft (SHEET) Act, legislation to counter Chinese espionage efforts operations in American universities. Sen. Cruz previously introduced this bill in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
Upon introducing this bill, Sen. Cruz said:
“China is the single greatest geopolitical threat facing the United States, and the CCP is a profoundly malign influence on our university campuses. The SHEET Act advances U.S. security by countering the CCP’s espionage efforts targeting American higher education..”
