Sen. Cruz Issues Statement on Supreme Court Rulings

Applauds SCOTUS decisions in Brnovich v. DNC and Americans for Prosperity v. Bonta

HOUSTON, Texas - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today issued the following statement on two U.S. Supreme Court decisions affirming election integrity and First Amendment rights:

"The U.S. Supreme Court's rulings today are remarkable victories for election integrity, democracy, and free speech. In the case of Brnovich v. DNC, I'm proud to have led the charge in the Senate alongside my colleagues to help ensure that each state maintains the ability to enact neutral, common-sense measures governing their elections. This ruling specifically makes clear that nothing prevents states from prohibiting schemes like ballot harvesting, which invite fraud and corruption to our election process.

"In the age of cancel culture and political contempt, the ruling of Americans for Prosperity v. Bonta is a decisive win for American's First Amendment rights and their ability to donate to charities and causes they believe in without fear of being targeted or doxed by the woke mob."
