Sen. Cruz Meets With El Pasoans, Including Local Job Creators and Border Patrol Agents

Two-day trip through the Sun City focuses on economic growth and border security

EL PASO, Texas – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today visited with executives and employees of Plastic Molding Technology, where he toured the company's facility and participated in a town hall. Later in the day, Sen. Cruz also received a briefing from El Paso Sector Border Patrol and toured the U.S./Mexico border as part of a two-day trip through the El Paso area.

Still photos and video of Sen. Cruz’s visits will be available here.

At Plastic Molding Technology, Sen. Cruz discussed his efforts to expand economic opportunity and create more good-paying jobs for Texans.

“It’s an honor to visit with the hardworking men and women here at Plastic Molding Technology,” Sen. Cruz said. “My number-one priority is very simple: it is jobs, jobs, jobs. And the reason is because that is the number-one priority of Texans. In every part of our state, Texans want more jobs, more opportunity, higher wages, and a better future for our kids. And the way you get more jobs, higher wages and more opportunity, is by simplifying and reducing the burdens of taxes and regulations on small businesses and job creators. My focus is on delivering results, to bring back jobs, and raise wages and expand opportunity for Texans all across our state.”

During his tour along the U.S./Mexico border, Sen. Cruz discussed his priorities for securing the border.

“I’ve spent a lot of time visiting with Border Patrol agents from here in El Paso to the Rio Grande Valley,” Sen. Cruz said. “And I think we should be listening to the insight and wisdom of the professionals that are on the border every day. You know, my views on immigration are very simple, and can be summed up in four words. Legal: good. Illegal: bad. I believe we can secure our borders and finally devote the resources, manpower and technology to ensure that our borders are secure, and at the same time welcome and celebrate legal immigrants, those coming here to seek the American dream and who are following the rules. And I think the overwhelming majority of Texans agree with that.”
