Discusses issues concerning Texans with Killeen city leaders, members of the Conroe/Lake Conroe and El Paso Chambers of Commerce
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) this week held meetings in his Washington, D.C. Senate office with Killeen city leaders and members of the Conroe/Lake Conroe and El Paso Chambers of Commerce.
On Tuesday, Sen. Cruz met with the City of Killeen, where officials discussed his recent visit to Fort Hood during his ‘Texas Defends America’ tour, among other issues. During the meeting, Sen. Cruz reiterated his commitment to the military’s expansion in the Lone Star State.
“Killeen is home to a vibrant military community,” Sen. Cruz said. “I am honored to have the opportunity to meet with the local leaders there to discuss how Texas will continue playing a crucial role in America’s defense and national security.”
On Wednesday, Sen. Cruz met with members of the Conroe/Lake Conroe and El Paso Chambers of Commerce. There, they discussed his efforts to make recent tax cuts permanent for American families, reduce the burden of federal regulations on job creators, reform healthcare, and his efforts to bring the Army’s newest Armored Brigade Combat Team to Fort Bliss.
“My number one priority in the Senate continues to be focused on jobs and economic opportunity,” Sen. Cruz said. “Texans are thrilled with the historic tax cuts, the job-killing federal regulations we’ve rolled back, and the strong, constitutionalist judges we’ve confirmed to the federal bench. We’re seeing an economic boom across the country and in the Lone Star State. It’s an honor to meet with these local leaders and job creators from Conroe and El Paso, and I’m grateful for the good work they do in their communities in Texas.”
