Sen. Cruz Meets With Texas Business and Banking Groups
Meets with members of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and participates in Q&A with Texas Bankers Association
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Tuesday met with several Texas groups in his Washington, D.C. Senate office. Before addressing members of the Texas Bankers Association, Sen. Cruz met with members of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
In his meeting with the Chamber, Sen. Cruz thanked the members for their efforts on behalf of El Paso businesses and community leaders.
"It's a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet with the Hispanic job creators and community leaders of El Paso," Sen. Cruz said. "My priorities from day one in the Senate have been jobs and economic growth, because those are the priorities of Texans all across our great state - from East Texas to West Texas, from the Panhandle to the Valley."
During his Q&A with members of the Texas Bankers Association, Sen. Cruz highlighted his efforts to reduce the burden of federal regulations, and the booming economic growth seen in Texas and across the country.
"The battle between freedom and government regulation - it's not going to be over in any one day," Sen. Cruz said. "As y'all are well aware, the government does not create jobs. It is the hardworking men and women in this room. If you care about jobs and economic growth, you care about small businesses. Why? Two thirds of all new jobs come from small businesses. How do we get small businesses to grow? Well, it's not rocket science. There are two major tools that government has: tax reform and regulatory reform."
