Sens. Cruz, Scott, Colleagues Introduce Resolution Asserting President Biden’s Authority to Immediately Secure the Southern Border

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rick Scott (R-Fla.), along with several of their Senate Republican colleagues, introduced a resolution denouncing the Biden administration’s disastrous open border policies for allowing more than nine million illegal immigrants cross into the United States.

Upon introducing a resolution, Sen. Cruz said, “The disaster occurring at our southern border is the direct result of Joe Biden’s neglectful open border policies. This administration’s willful negligence has allowed human trafficking, crime, and deadly drugs invade our communities at unprecedented rates. This is a humanitarian catastrophe. I am proud to be working with my colleagues to hold the Biden administration accountable for their radical policies that havejeopardized American national security. The safety and security of our country must come first.”

Sens. Cruz and Scott were joined by Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), John Hoeven, (R-N.D.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Tim Scott (R-Fla.), Roger Marshall(R-Kan.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Mike Braun (R-Ind,), and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.). Rep.Monica De La Cruz (R-TX-15) led the resolution in the House of Representatives which passed with bipartisan support.
